Brief Overview
Over the years there have always been bands - who either by their very nature or sometimes just by circumstance - seem to stand well outside the mainstream of the music business, hard to categorize, to pin down. Heronimus Fin fit this niche'. In his book on the contemporary 90's British underground Adrift in the Ether (Borderline Books) Chris Williams described the band as "obscure and secretive", however the band did throw it's heart behind the anti-cruelty campaign of the abused Chipperfield circus chimp "Trudi' in 1999 with their single 'Animal Tragic' in order to raise money for `Monkeyworld` in Dorset. With all the national press & publicity they still turned down several media offers and chose only a brief appearance on channel fours Big Breakfast (just because they liked it) and an obscure appearence on the shopping channel `Ideal World` very strange!

Dmitry Epstein (`Let It Rock', Israel) author of Russian books on The Doors, Deep Purple, Uriah Heep and more writes about "their exquisite guitar work. ..... their song writing mastership" and concludes "as for the band - its only the lack of a major deal that has stopped them reaching the very top". These are thoughts echoed by a lot of people, why else would Holland's 'Paperlate radio program invite them along with Uriah Heep, Richard Sinclair (Caravan), Eddie Hardin (Spencer Davis Group) to session on their special 250th anniversary show or Chris Alexander invite the band to support Roger Chapman (Family) at the London Astoria 11 (now sadly gone). Why would Record Collector Magazines readers vote the band consistently in their top 500 collectable artists 6 years running (even toppling Syd Barrett, The Stereophonics, Cream, The Eagles, The White Stripes, Foo Fighters, Robert Plant, Joe Satriani, Can, Roger Waters) and John Vignola write in Italy's alternative rock magazine Rockerilla "the capacity of the band to mix the tone and alternate the acoustics in a contagious electric riff, produces compositions filled with yearning and melancholy with total originality ..... our rational attempt stops here at the evident beauty of the sound".

Musically they straddle the extremes of psychedelia, progressive and folk rock, sometimes even bordering on punk and yet the sound is distinctively Heronimus Fin. Reviewers have described it as underground, eclectic yet pop, escapist, quirky yet protest. They have been compared to Hawkwind, The Clash. Genesis, Kinks, Nick Drake, Leonard Cohen, Pink Floyd, Elvis Costello, Super Furry Animals, Beatles, Moody Blues, described as a psych band, a mod band, a punk band, a prog rock band and art rock, is there any theme at all you may ask? the band put it this way “think of the Beatles White album, try and categorize that, you can`t, each song takes you through a different emotion or aspect yet it obviously belongs to the same band. We don't mind borders to our writing - otherwise the band has no sound - yet we don't want to just keep on repeating the same groove, the same first idea. There are however tangible themes running through for one the rock element is set in stone and another is the Englishness of it all”.

After 15 years without a release in true Guerilla fashion `The Fin` returned from the hills to release their 4th Album "Blown Into Another Man`s Sky" mastered by Pete Maher (U2, Rolling Stones, Killers etc). Bertrand Tappaz from France`s Radio Grenoble, described their  Comeback "...as an album that sets the bar high....In fact (he said) on this album (brilliant title) Heronimus Fin have indulged in more 'Englishness' which puts the disc and music in the tradition of the best song writers : Ray Davis, Elvis Costello, Marc Bolan, Nick Drake, Paul Weller ... J`adore, J`adore, j`adore Heronimus Fin"!
